Danny Phantom is an animated sci-fi adventure TV show created by Butch Hartman that aired on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2007. During its three-season run it ran for 53 episodes.

The show revolves around the adventures of a 14-year-old boy named Danny Fenton, who after an accident in his parent's lab becomes half-human half-ghost with the abilities of both as well as the ability to switch forms at will. With his two best friends, Sam and Tucker, he must use his new powers to protect his town of Amity Park from the ghosts escaping from the Ghost Zone.

Original Opening Sequence

The Danny Phantom theme song is well known among fans for its rap-inspired style and lyrics sung by Derek Batiste. However, before this final theme song was chosen, two other versions of the theme song were produced and reviewed. One of these is completely lost and unknown, as the only confirmation of its existence comes from a video on series creator Butch Hartman's YouTube channel in which series music composer Guy Moon mentions having written said theme song.

The other unused version, however, is much better documented. This version of the theme has a more downbeat tone with different lyrics and is entirely sung by Guy Moon. For several years, the audio of this version has been available as well as the black and white animatic corresponding to the sequence. Despite no official confirmation that this sequence was ever animated, several fully animated clips of scenes from the animatic can be seen in commercials promoting Danny Phantom before the show first aired.

Because of the abundance of clips from various points in the sequence, as well as the fact that parts of the unused opening are used and fully animated in the final sequence, it is plausible that most if not all of the sequence was completed; however, the rest of the animation has never surfaced and is therefore considered lost.
