Status: Partially Lost

Mr. Meaty was a Nickelodeon puppet TV series created by Jamie Shannon and Jason Hopley that aired on Nickelodeon in 2006, and on Nicktoons from 2007 to 2009. The series was originally sets of shorts that aired on Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, and CBC before it was a TV series.[1][2]

The series surrounds Josh and Parker, who work at a fast food restaurant named "Mr. Meaty" inside a mall, where they often encounter bizarre and unusual situations.

In 2005, around the times shorts were being produced and aired, a pilot which was made to pitch a TV series based off the shorts was created. The pilot was successfully pitched and aired on Nickelodeon on December 30, 2005.[3]

Plot

The plot follows Josh and Parker being stuck in a freezer while attempting to survive and escape with what they have. Parker worries and eats everything in the freezer, while Josh talks with Parker about memories and incidents they went through. These incidents are based on past shorts of the series.

The shorts in the pilot are The Black Tar, Mcboaaaa, and Revenge of the Vegan, which have been available online long before the pilot's discovery.

They eventually open the door and escape, in which Parker passes out from having charged at the freezers door in an attempt to eat Josh.

Availability

The pilot for Mr. Meaty has only aired once throughout the entirety of the series run. Due to the unpopularity and limited availability of the pilot, it has become obscure and lost media.

It was once available on YouTube sometime in 2012, having been posted by user "Rocco Magone", however the channel and video have not been archived. Rocco has a second channel which although did not get deleted, has no content from the pilot.[4]

The only information online before any footage was found was a listing for the pilot on several TV listing sites, along with the creator of the show Jamie having once told a user it existed.[5]

On September 3, 2023, user "YTGhostGarrett" who posts Mr. Meaty related content along with shorts from the series, posted most of the pilot on YouTube. Unfortunately, the video is glitched and has some parts missing due to it.

It is unknown how it was obtained by the user or where it originates from, however it does not appear to be an airing or recording of the pilot. It is believed to have originated from the same source as the one from Rocco.
