Roary the Racing Car is a children's stop-motion animated TV series created by David Jenkins that ran from 2007-2010 on Channel 5 in the UK.[1] The show characters were animated by Keith Chapman who is known for creating Bob the Builder.

The show consists of the five racing characters Roary, Maxi, Cici, Drifter, and Tin Top and the three human characters Big Chris (the mechanic), Marsha (the motorsport marshal), and the owner of the track all taking place at the Silver Hatch race track.

Pilot

A pilot was made in 2005 to pitch the series to TV Executives at the Cannes Film Festival that same year.[2] The characters had different designs with the two most notable ones were Roary's original color was green instead of red and Maxi's was red instead of yellow. Any additional information on the pilot, such as its plot, is currently unknown as only a few promotional screenshots have resurfaced as of 2021.
