In October 2011, Nicktoons aired a series of bumpers for Halloween that featured characters from various shows at the time being zombified. The bumpers were remembered over the years for how terrifying they were.

Background

On January 9th, 2022, user Wormy made a post on the Lost Media Wiki forums about the zombified bumpers. In the post, they described how they were finding a series of bumpers they saw at night, quote:

So, I've been searching for a series of Halloween bumpers from 2011 that aired on Nicktoons. They were called "Nicktoons Gets Zombified," and basically would include disturbing, Dead Bart-esque imagery of Nicktoons characters either laughing maniacally (distorted and all with creepy ominous music) or groaning in what sounded like physical pain. Also constant cuts in and out during the bumps, old grey damaged film FX, and the "Nicktoons" logo designed to be all scuffed up with the words "ZOMBIFIED" underneath, with a narrator reading over it. I distinctly remember these bumpers scarring me when I was 10 (not even single digit age), and hiding underneath my blanket whenever they would come on. Callback to the lost episode creepypasta comparison - they were something straight out of a Trollpasta entry, except they existed.

She describes four bumpers that aired during that time being Spongebob, The Mighty B, The Fairly Oddparents, and Fanboy and Chum Chum.[1][2] Though no proof hasn't surfaced of the zombified Spongebob bumper existing.

The post got popular and people tried to help with the search. On March 17, 2022, user supmandude found an archive of the Nicktoons site, though the videos didn't work, the thumbnails were accessible, giving a glimpse on what they looked like.

On April 8th, 2022, user nabix found a clip of the Fanboy and Chum Chum bumper from a demo reel. Another clip from the Fairly Oddparents bumper was found on a different demo reel. YouTuber LSuperSonicQ planned to contact the animators, however, the demo reels were on accounts that were abandoned, making contacting a bit hard.

Availability

On August 15th, 2022, user BowDown97 uploaded the three bumpers altogether. However, it is not known how the user obtained them.
