Status: Partially Found

Hip Hop Hurrà is a short-lived Italian sitcom created by Ilenia Ferrari, which premiered on Disney Channel Italy in 2007. The show was rather unsuccessful compared to Disney Channel's other Italian productions, and was cancelled after a single season.[1]

Premise

The show is about eight kids (aged 10-13), who in the afternoon meet at an hip hop course: here, other than practising, they also talk about school, love and other things in their life. Some characters include: Daniele (Gianmaria Biancuzzi), the lucky one, Matteo (Ermes Califano), an unlucky kid who never gives up, Vanessa (Greta Bosio), a vain girl who's always following the latest trends, and Francesca (Francesca Sani), the group's strict teacher.

Production

The show started production in 2006, with creator Ilenia Ferrari working both on the casting and as a writer on the show. Production ended in 2007, with 1 season of 60 3-minute episodes being produced, in a short format similar to that of other Italian Disney Channel series, such as Quelli dell'intervallo and later Life Bites - Pillole di vita.[2][3]

Cancellation

The show wasn't well received, as many fans noticed the similarities between it and the more popular Quelli dell'intervallo, primarily with the characters. There was also some criticism drawn towards the acting, while reception on the actual hip hop performances was split. Ultimately the show was unable to find an audience, and was cancelled after one season.

Availability

This is one of, if not the most obscure Disney Channel sitcoms of all time, due to its low popularity and the fact that it didn't air often, with its last known reruns being in 2009. Nowdays, it's really hard to to find any episodes, and only two shorts have resurfaced in full, but as low quality camrips.
