Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a 2017 superhero film based on the Guardians of the Galaxy superhero team. It's a sequel to 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy and is the 15th film to take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When the film debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 a teaser trailer was presented by the movie's director James Gunn.[1] While a teaser trailer was posted online a few months later this was entirely different than the one shown at Comic-Con with that one never being released publicly.

Trailer Description

The Guardians are shown waiting for an interdimensional beast they have been contracted to kill on top of an alien tower. Star-Lord is shocked to see Gamora clutching an alien rifle because he had assumed she would only use swords. Gamora then reprimands him for imagining that she would use a sword to fight an interdimensional alien. The extraterrestrial monster reappears in the skies as the scene comes to a close. The rest of the trailer is a sizzle reel of fun shots and hints at the film's plot. Star-Lord is then shown preparing for battle with his helmet re-emerging over his face and him taking off to the sky. The interdimensional beast is depicted being jumped at by Gamora, who then stabs it with her sword. Rocket Racoon is seen shooting his weapons while spinning in circles while carrying Groot 2 on his shoulder. Drax is seen shouting, "Screw Spaceships," while standing on a strange planet and gazing above. Later, in another scene, he is seen repeatedly striking an organic-looking wall. The new Guardian, Mantis, is introduced to the team. The trailer ends with Ego being identified as the father of Star-Lord where he describes how he assumed human form before meeting Star-Lord's mother before he was even born. Drax then asks if he has a penis in his human form and Ego responds: "Yes, Drax. I do have a penis. A pretty good one too." Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" can also be heard throughout the trailer.[1]

Availability

It seems very unlikely for Marvel Studios to officially release the trailer as it no longer serves any purpose in promoting the film.
