JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken: Ōgon no Kaze is a video game based on the fifth part of the popular manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure that was released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan in 2002. The game was planned for a release in North America and Europe however it was cancelled for unknown reasons.

Announcement

Following the Japanese release of the game, Capcom announced at E3 2002 that the game would receive a release in western release in October of the same year[1] under the title of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure in North America and GioGio’s Bizarre Adventure in Europe.[2] This was contradicted however by the ESRB who listed the game under the European title on their website.[3] The game was later delayed to February 14th, 2003[4] however the game did not release on that date and was not mentioned by Capcom again. It’s unknown how much was localized before its cancellation however, it was far enough into production to be rated by the ESRB who gave it an M rating. The game was also reported on by the English Shonen Jump magazine in an article which also revealed the box art.[5]

Availability

The English localisation is currently unavailable and has neither been officialy released by Capcom or leaked online. The only available footage is from the E3 2002 trailer for the game. It is highly unlikely for the game to be released officially in English since Capcom lost the rights to create video games based on the manga to Bandai Namco in 2014. While the official English localisation for the game was cancelled, fan group JoJo’s Colored Adventure created an unofficial English patch for the game in 2018.[6]
