Etherboy (sometimes referred to as Ether Boy[1]) is a shelved album by American rapper Ron Browz. He began recording it in 2008 after signing with Universal Motown Records.[2][3]
About the Project
The project received publicity during the album cycle off the back of the moderately successful singles "Pop Champagne" and "Jumping (Out the Window)", and was reviewed by several critics.[4][5][6] However, he was unable to actually release the album.[7] He would later say that his label "felt like [my album] shouldn't come out", protesting that it had a "dope" quality with features from P. Diddy, Keri, Lloyd Banks, and Amerie. He left the label, leaving the album mostly unreleased officially.[1] Some of the album tracks like "Pop Champagne" and "Jumping (Out the Window)" among others are available on streaming services and YouTube, but others appear to be lost, such as the album intro, "I'm From Uptown", and "Paniez in the Microwave", among others.
Ron Browz has a MySpace page where some of the missing songs appear to once have been located, but many of the songs from Etherboy are not playable on the site.[8] It's unclear if these tracks were ever accessible to the public.
