Status: Lost

Vamos a matar Sartana (also known as Let's Go and Kill Sartana in English) is an Italian western film that was released in 1971 and is directed by Mario Pinzauti. This is a lost/extremely rare Italian western.

Plot

According to the Spaghetti Western database page for the film, the synopsis is summarized as:

"Nebraska Clay kills a gang of outlaws in self-defense but is imprisoned for further investigation of the crime. While in jail he meets an outlaw named “Crazy Person” and escapes with him when his gang carries out a jailbreak." [1]

Much like the original Django from 1966, the Sartana films also had unofficial sequels and rip-offs. Most of which have nothing to do with the original films and don't have a character named Sartana in them. This is one of these films that seems to have been re-titled and released as a Sartana film.

Availability

What exists of this film is the film's posters, lobby cards and trailer.

However, according to the Spaghetti Western Database forum, there is a possibility that a copy of this film exists. There is a South African independent DVD distributor label called "Global DVD" that has released the English versions of multiple (including some rare) Italian westerns on DVD. It is mainly run by a person named Naushad who is known as "warrior" in the forum. They were planning on releasing Vamos a matar Sartana but due to financial reasons and loss of interest, they have cancelled the release as well as the release of a few other rare English versions of Italian westerns. As of now, it is unknown what happened to this unreleased copy of the film. [2]
