Status: Partially Found

The Unmaking of Spider-Man is an unreleased 2014 American documentary film chronicling the troubled production of the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark from the perspective of Jacob Cohl, a filmmaker and the son of the musical's producer, Michael Cohl. It is similar in nature to The Sweatbox, the documentary chronicling the troubled production of The Emperor's New Groove from the perspective of Trudie Styler, a filmmaker and the wife of New Groove's composer, Sting. And just like The Sweatbox, The Unmaking of Spider-Man has been buried since its completion. (Though The Sweatbox did eventually leak online.)

Status

The existence of The Unmaking of Spider-Man was confirmed in the 2014 book Song of Spider-Man,` which documents the production of Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark from the perspective of the musical's librettist, Glen Berger. A trailer for the documentary has been posted online, as well as a clip from it.
