The life of general villa was a 1914 filmed by Mutual Film Corporation, it was the first social movement ever registered in a movie, nowadays it is considered lost due to the poor manteinance it had.


Antecedents

What is known about the movie is that around 1914 General Francisco Villa needed funds for the Mexican revolution war, so Mutual Film Corporation (by that time directed by D.W. Griffith) decided to firm a contract to film a movie about the Mexican Revolution, Francisco Villa would receive 25,000$ in advance and would receive 50% of the movie earnings, it would be an epic proportions movie about one of Mexico`s biggest figures, the movie was finally filmed but the contract was soon cancelled because of the relationship between the USA and Francisco Villa detereorating, Villa didnt received any kind of help and the movie was forgotten


Plot

It is believed the movie was filmed in the Battlefield between the Convencionalists and the Constitutionalists, and was mainly focused in the battle between both parts
