Smosh is a sketch comedy team (formerly a duo) founded by Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox in 2002. Originally Smosh was just a forum site for Anthony and his friends to hangout after school but in 2003 the site got a flash animation section in which users will submit their flash animations on the website which most of which were made by Anthony, Anthony's friends from school and some of Anthony's friends from online some of those animations were uploaded on Newgrounds and YouTube but most of them were a smosh.com exclusive on 2006 the flash animation section was removed because of a hard drive crash ^[1] making the shorts lost. In 2023 most of the animation shorts were uploaded on YouTube with exception of two shorts which were Persia Destroyed Remastered and Zoloft.

Existence

After the removal of the flash animation section, some fans didn't know about the animations until they discovered the smosh Newgrounds accounts of Anthony and Ian which had the shorts Day of Revenge, Die Smoshing Ep.1, Wheelchair Boy, Life's Lessons 1-5, The Dump, Sierra Pist, Elderly Driving Mayhem! and "Rejected" Spoof making people release the shorts to YouTube.

Availability

On August 19th, 2008, An Anonymous user released the short Die Smoshing to the Pornographic Flash Animation site "Swf-Chan" the upload would be unknown because the site was unknown at the time.

On June 7th, 2009, Youtuber UnknownThingzorz uploaded the short "Day of Revenge" to YouTube. The description reads

This was not made by me. Smosh owns this, I just wanted to put it up to show that Anthony Padilla could animate and create videos that were awesome. This was made in 2003.

On September 3rd, 2010, Anthony Padilla would release an unreleased short which was never released on smosh.com because it was made in 2002 he released it after 8 years to smosh.com according to him he found it on his hard drive but that hard drive crashed, but he saved the file of the short.

On December 28th, 2011, YouTuber Hypernova would release the short Life's Lessons 1-5 YouTube, the description reads

I did not make this. It's one of Smosh's first few submissions on Newgrounds.

In 2012 the unreleased short would be removed from smosh.com the reason is unknown the same year the short Die Smoshing was removed from Newgrounds because of its inappropriate content.

In 2016 the short Day Of Revenge would be removed from Newgrounds by the Newgrounds Moderation Team because the short included the songs Wait And Bleed and bodies by the bands Drowning Pool and SlipKnot and due to copyright issues on Newgrounds, some shorts by other users with copyright music were removed.

In 2020 YouTuber Kebab_Hill would release the shorts Cops and Wheelchair boy to YouTube some of the shorts were a smosh.com exclusive and a Newgrounds upload and they weren't available on YouTube until Kelab found it the same year YouTuber Black space would rip the original upload of die smoshing from swf-chan to YouTube also he found a forum about the production of the short^[2]

In 2022 YouTuber JPr Koxeilas would found 10 shorts from an archive of smosh.com from the Wayback Machine but one of the shorts that JPr found which its title is Kill Anthony is partially found because the short wasn't archived currently making it's audio to move also he has found screenshots and production designs of the short one of those production designs was found in the index section of smosh.com^[3]

In 2023, YouTuber Sindex Stuff Would find the short Anthony's Long Lost Animation from an archive of the file sharing site blip.tv, The Same Year JPr would find the swf file of Kill Anthony and release it on the discord server of The Lost Media Wiki .
