Maalaala Mo Kaya (transl. Would you remember?; formerly stylized as Maala·ala mo kaya... or Maalaala mo kaya...; abbreviated as MMK), is a Philippine television drama anthology series broadcast by ABS-CBN Entertainment. Hosted by Charo Santos-Concio, it premiered on May 15, 1991 and concluded on December 10, 2022, with a total of 1,348 episodes.[1] Maalaala Mo Kaya has become the longest-running drama anthology in the Philippines,[2] reaching its 31st year in 2022. The program features weekly real-life stories or anecdotes of common people or even famous celebrities and personalities through letter sending. Some viewers find the end titles to be creepy, citing the real life person's faces blurred out.

Info

Each of the episodes lasted for at least 50 minutes. It usually begins with the host Charo Santos-Concio introducing a prologue about the story of a real life person, ranging from ordinary people to famous personalities. In some episodes, the opening title contains disclaimer stating the sensitivity of the story (such as themes of sexual abuse and domestic violence).[3] After the story, the episode switches back to Santos-Concio, where she tells the viewers the moral lesson of the story. After Santos-Concio's closing remarks, the screen fades to black and the title of the episode is shown.

The 2000s-2010s format contains the slideshow photos of a real life person during the end credits. The theme song of the same title sung by Carol Banawa is played and then the text on the screen stating the email of the program, which would be sent by the person of their stories, and the text promo as part of the viewers to guess the title of the episode.

In 2000s-2010s format, the end credits contains the inset slideshow photos of the old photos or the videos of the real life person. During the JM Yosures's theme song era (2021-2022), the end titles showing the full screen of slideshow photos, and later transitioned into real life person interviews with the host, similar to Mel Tiangco's Magpakailanman. However, in some episodes where the theme is about sexual abuse, domestic violence, life of crime, or adultery, the real life person are blurred out.
