Léon le Caméléon is a french animation made in 1983, produced by the S.F.P., was exhibited by Le Village dans les nuages French children's television series successor to L'Île aux enfants that ran for 650 episodes between 1982 and 1985 on the channel TF1.[1]

It's the original creation of the beloved animator Jacques Lelievre, creator of the animated series Balthazar le mille-pattes and Georges le rouge-gorge.[2]

Premise

it's about the little adventures(of about one and a half minute) of the titular character, the amusing chameleon called Léon, but rather cheeky and won't resist to do silly things such as bother some poor snail who just wants to be left alone, he doesn't really harm.

But in the end, it preserves the morals and our nice creature always ends up falling into his own traps and taking the opportunity to learn a good lesson and correct your mistakes! [3]

Availability

The cartoon ran 40 episodes on it's open television transmission by the host Le Village dans les nuages saturday morning like program between 1983 and possible reruns until at least 1985, expeculating  the final exhibition.

It's unknown if the cartoon ever aired in anything else after that.
