Poster for the Greatest Hits In The Round tour

Status: Partially Lost

The Wiggles is a popular children's group that formed in 1991 in Sydney, Australia. They are known for their hits Hot Potato, Get Ready To Wiggle, Fruit Salad and many others. Between 1991 and 1998, they mostly released albums and videos and toured heavily and would gain popularity in Australia. By the turn of the century, the group gained globe popularity and their albums, videos, television shows and tours would become hugely successful. On March 4, 2010, they released the compilation video "Hot Potatoes! The Best of The Wiggles" that featured the group's most famous songs up until that point. To promote the video and it's album that was released a year earlier, the group commenced on a Greatest Hits tour after they were done with the Wiggly Circus tour that would following after the video's release.

Background

The tour began on November 27th, 2010 at the Burswood Dome in Perth, Australia and would conclude at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia on December 20th, 2010[1]. The tour would be notable for having past songs being performed live for the first time[2] like the cover of The Seekers' Morningtown Ride and Fly Through The Sky. Five Little Joeys makes it's live return on this tour as well, having been last performed in 1997 as part of the Wake Up Jeff! Tour[3] and the stage from the group's Big, Big Show In The Round tour from 2009 would be reused for this tour with a few differences. Future red wiggle Simon Pryce would return as his character Ringo The Ringmaster for the tour as well.

Availability

The December 19th show at the Acer Arena in Sydney would be recorded and most of the songs performed at the concert would appear on the 2011 video and album "The Wiggles' Big Birthday!" along with songs from the December 20th, 2009 show at the same venue from the Big, Big Show In The Round tour. Both shows would be made into specials that would be shown in theaters via CinemaLive[4][5]. A separate show that was recorded from the Big, Big Show In The Round tour was recorded and was made available on the group's now-defunct interactive website Wiggle Time and the Greatest Hits special wasn't given the same treatment and was made unavailable after it's theatrical run. The Big, Big Show In The Round special would find it's way on YouTube after Wiggle Time was shut down in 2015. The songs that didn't appear in the Big Birthday album and video are Morningtown Ride, Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, Turn Around, Music Box Dancer, Clap Your Hands with Dorothy, Dorothy, Pick Roses with Me, The Fairy Dance, Humpty Dumpty, Can You (Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?), Hula, Hula Baby, The Shimmie Shake!, Getting Strong!, Sing With Me, Wave to Wags, The Monkey Dance, Captain Feathersword Fell Asleep on His Pirate Ship (Quack Quack), Great Big Man In Red and the Fairy Dance. All that's left of the Greatest Hits Acer Arena performance is what was released in the Big Birthday video.

On November 17, 2020, Anthony Field posted two clips from the Sydney concert on both his Twitter and Instagram[6]. The clips are nowhere to be found in the Big Birthday video, especially the clip where the plane prop fell on Anthony at the end of Fly Through The Sky[7]. This has lead to speculation that another concert performed at the Acer Arena during the tour was recorded.
