Eat Bulaga! is a Philippine variety show aired on GMA Network and produced by TAPE Inc. It is mainly hosted by Tito Sotto, Joey De Leon, and Vic Sotto. Premiered on July 30, 1979, it is the longest-running noontime variety show in the Philippines, and as such it has a lot of lost footage.

Information

Premiered on July 30, 1979, it first aired on RPN-9 from 1979 to 1989. Chiqui Hollman and Richie D'Horsie also served as hosts. Initially produced by Production Specialists, Inc., it was later handed to TAPE, Inc. Coney Reyes joined in 1982. The show was temporarily off the air due to People Power Revolution in 1986 due to RPN's transmitter shutting down due to the event.

In 1989, the show moved to ABS-CBN with a TV special titled "Eat... Bulaga!: Moving On."[1][2] Ruby Rodriguez and Rio Diaz became co-hosts in 1991. In 1995, the show moved to GMA Network, its current channel. A special titled "Eat... Bulaga!: The Moving!" was aired in January 28, 1995.[3] Several showbiz personalities became hosts such as Toni Rose Gayda, Allan K., Samantha Lopez, and Francis Magalona. The 25th year celebration of the show was aired on November 19, 2004, from Expo Filipino. Its daytime ratings were high and there were an estimated 60,000 spectators. The presentation, titled "Eat Bulaga Silver Special" was broadcasted on November 27 and 29, 2004.[4]

Eat Bulaga! went on to introduce segments like Laban o Bawi, and the iconic Juan for All, All for Juan. In 2015, Kalyeserye started with the loveteam AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza). Due to this, its ratings tripled and a benefit concert dubbed "Tamang Panahon" was held.
