The main theme of the marathon was that the KND needed to build a satellite, and had to look in the other shows for clues. Throughout the marathon's several commercial breaks, Cartoon Network aired special bumpers, featuring spliced together footage of Kids Next Door characters interacting with characters from the other shows. Numbuh 1 stayed at the Treehouse, while Numbuhs 2 through 5 traveled "into" the other shows.

Kids Next Door Mission Weekend was a 51-hour marathon that ran from 7 pm on August 8, 2003, to 10 pm August 10, 2003. Although the main focus was Kids Next Door, Cartoon Network also aired Dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Ed, Edd, n Eddy.

This marathon remained obscure for over 14 years, as no footage of it was uploaded to YouTube. There is an article on the subject on Cartoon Network's wiki[1], although it goes so unmentioned that it there is not even a mention on the official KND wiki. A surviving ToonZone forum has a thread from August 8, 2003 (during the weekend it aired).[2]

On February 12th, 2017, Cartoon Network & Toonami promo archivist Captain B. Zarre uploaded some of the lost bumpers from the marathon. Approximately 8 bumpers were in the upload, but the rest are still missing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QLQgQKBqMw
