Originally occurring on 15th June and then being resumed on 22nd June at the Langhorne Speedway, the race would ultimately be won by Bobby Unser in an Eagle-Offenhauser, controlling proceedings after overtaking Brawner-Ford's Mario Andretti on lap 89.
