Son of Frankenstein is a 1939 monster horror film produced by Universal Pictures. The film is a sequel to Bride of Frankenstein and features Basil Rathbone, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and Lionel Atwill. It was met with critical success and aided the return of Universal's monster horror films.[1]

The film was originally shot during the early parts of production in Technicolor.[2] It's unknown how much of the film was completed in this format before it was abandoned. A reel of color footage is rumored to exist deep in a Universal vault in New Jersey.[3]
