Las Aventuras de Mumú (The Adventures of Mumú The Bull)[1] was a stop-motion animation series for small children directed, written, and produced by Enrique Nicanor for Televisión Española (now known as RTVE). It premiered in November 11th, 1967 and ended on May 4th, 1968[2] with a total of 26 episodes [1]. It's considered important due to it being the first animated series for television made entirely in Spain.[3]

Plot

The series followed the adventures of an Andalusian Bull named Mumú and his two human friends: a small child named Lolita, wearing a sweater and a triangle-shaped hat made out of newspaper, and an adult man with buck teeth wearing a round-topped hat and a suit named D. Tontón.

Episodes

Out of its 26 aired episodes[1], only the titles and plots for two of them are known.

The first one is titled "El espantapájaros" ("The Scarecrow") and it was fully found and uploaded to RTVE's archive, thanks to Adrián Encinas, a Spanish stop-motion enthusiast, who, after finding out about the series, contacted RTVE's archive, and, thanks to the help of profesionals Dolors Gonzalo and Francesca Puig the episode was fully found and later uploaded in 21st July, 2021[3].

The second known episode is titled "El Encuentro de Mumú" ("Mumú's encounter") this one only has its title and a synopsis, both of wich were found in an old newspaper.
