Status: Existence Unconfirmed

This World Peace/Anti Mexican Drug War ad is a lost ad from the Telemundo Costa Central channel (A Spanish-speaking channel in the US dedicated to broadcasting and producing content like Telenovelas and News to Spanish-speaking citizens based in the Costa Central part of California) that was aired between 2008 and 2010 and seems to have had an "Anti War" theme to it.

Context

- The ad was transmitted in the area of Santa Barbara in California

- The ad was broadcasted late at night around the 9pm to 1am time

- The ad has a Opera type song in the background with high notes and a deep voice (a good comparison could be the start of the song “Waka Waka” by Shakira).

- From that point the ad starts showing images and videos with text in between, the images were apparently showing people like Gandhi.

- The music changes to an Action Movie type song and from there the video cuts to the "Tank Man" video from the Tienanmen Protest in China and some other videos from real life events are shown.

Theories

The ad was produced during the Mexican Drug War (sometimes called the Calderon vs Narcotrafficking war) of 2006 to 2012 that made various big cartels split into various smaller cartels; this is the most possible theory due to the timeline and the location in which the ad was broadcasted.

The ad was produced due to the Trans Sahara war; this theory supposes that the ad was made for families of soldiers which are at the Trans Sahara war.

The ad was simply produced for kids to learn about how war can produce conflicts; this one doesn't make a lot of sense due to the maturity that the ad gives and that the ad was broadcasted at very late hours.

The Search

The ad has not surfaced to the internet and there is no mention to it in any forum post or related user media outside of a Discord thread in the Lost Media Wiki discord server, from this Lost Media Wiki user and creator of the article "citizensixtynine" began the search for the ad in late April 2021.
