WCW 2000 was a game that was in development for the PlayStation 2 by EA Sports Canada in 2000-2001. The game was considered cancelled on March 26th, 2001, when WCW was bought out by the WWF (known as the WWE from 2002 onwards due to the lawsuit with World Wildlife Fund).[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

It is unknown how far along in development the game was when it was canceled. It appeared on the cover of the May 2000 issue of PlayStation Magazine and had a 2 page spread on the game; from the article it appears that the game would have been similar to the previous WCW game, Backstage Assault, where there is no ring and all of the gameplay and fighting happens in the backstage area with a variety of weapons.

Also stated in the the article was the fact that the game would have been the first wrestling game to make use of facial scanning for the character models, something that wouldn't actually be used in WWE games until the release of WWE 2K15 in 2014.[8][9][10][11][12][13]

Various sources dispute the official name of the game, with some sites referring to it as WCW 2000, some WCW Mayhem 2 and others simply calling it WCW Wrestling.[14]
