Nymphet (lost English printing of "Kodomo no Jikan" manga; 2007)
In July 2006, Seven Seas Entertainment officially announced their licensing of the seinen manga Kodomo no Jikan by Kaworu Watashiya, with an originally planned release of the first volume in December 2006. The release was delayed for unknown reasons until 2007.
Finally, on May 29, 2007, Seven Seas Entertainment had an official press release come out exclusively to Anime News Network, claiming they were dealing with backlash over the series' controversial nature and were stuck on what to do, and delayed the release of the series until they could have "an open dialogue with the large book chains and other vendors".
Just one day later, the release of the manga was canceled, with the president of Seven Seas known as Jason DeAngelis stating that "it's not appropriate for Seven Seas to publish Nymphet."
He stated later that the primary reason for canceling the publication was "due to [his] recent realization that later volumes in the series can not be considered appropriate for the US market by any reasonable standard."
In a way, the president of Seven Seas ended up turning against the title he was so hellbent on releasing in the end, discussing his disgust on his blog over a scene where the male protagonist gets an erection after his student rubs up against him.
However, it has been confirmed a limited number of copies of the first volume were printed before the cancelation, and an Amazon listing is up to this day stating "Out of Print--Limited Availability."
