Next Caller (partially found unaired NBC comedy series; 2012-2013)
Next Caller is a comedy television series that was planned to premiere during the 2012-2013 mid-season schedule. Starring Dane Cook, Collette Wolfe, and Jeffrey Tambor, the show was abruptly cancelled before any of its episodes aired. Beyond promotional clips, the show has never been seen.
Background
In May of 2012, NBC announced they had commissioned six episodes of the comedy show Next Caller. Created by Stephen Falk and produced by Lionsgate Television and Universal Television, it starred Dane Cook as the shock jock Cam Dunne who reluctantly gets a co-host, the former NPR feminist Stella Hoobler played by Collette Wolfe.[1] By October 2012, Deadline reported that the show would not be going through with the series, only filming four of the six before cancellation. It was reported that NBC did not like the direction the series was going and ended it.[2] Falk would later write a Tumblr post in response to his experience with the series and its demise.[3]
Availability
As of 2022, none of the episodes in their entirety have been shown on television or online. What is available are short clips from the first episode to promote the series.
