Intro

Most Haunted In America is a 2002 TV Documentary, which supposedly aired on the Travel Channel, and was directed by Ronald Lyon, and Written by Jenny Paschall. The documentary itself is often times confused with other documentaries of similar names such as America's Most Haunted Places, a TV show which also aired on the Travel Channel. However, it has been confirmed that these are different, mainly due to the two having two different IMDb pages.

The Plot

The movie supposedly followed around a narrator who visited various haunted or scary places in the United States. Though not confirmed, it is believed that the following could have been visited: The Whaley House in San Diego, The Ghost of Mad Anthony in Pennsylvania, and Robert the Doll in Key West, Florida. The Narrator himself according to users, has a calm deep voice and talks with lots of inflection and annunciation, indicating that it could have been targeted to children or teenagers alike. This is backed up by the fact, that in contrast to many other documentaries, TV shows and Movies around this time and similar in nature, the focus was not to scare the viewer, but mainly focused on educating viewers on haunted places.

The Search (OnGoing)

The Search began on January 24, 2022 when reddit user u/Easter Lord, posed on r/LostMedia his ongoing search looking for the Documentary. He claimed on the post that he had seen the special around 2006-2007, and that he saw it on the Travel Channel. EasterLord also claimed that in the Documentary, he does remember seeing The Whaley House, The Ghost of Mad Anthony, and Robert the Doll, which to him was "the most memorable". EasterLord provided a link to the Robert the doll video in this post, hoping to add evidence. It was later discovered that another user on the r/TipOfMyTounge page, had also been searching for this documentary, and provided the same name as the OP, claiming it was "America's Most Haunted Place" and included the same link as Easter Lord, as well as another link to the Whaley House, which was a snippit from video "The Haunting of Whaley House Review" uploaded by Bobsheaux. Providing more evidence of the Documentaries existence.

Reddit users who saw the post, back up his claim that they too had in fact seen the Documentary. It was asked if the name of it could have been "Weird Travels", which also aired on the Travel Channel, and had a similar premise, but the OP denied this. One User, r/WastedMedia, attempted to throw in his ability to find the Documentary. WastedMedia began his search by providing a link to the "America's Most Haunted Place", which contained almost no information about any of the show, except for the episode listings, and a few cast members. One of these episodes took place in Key West Florida, and aired before 2007, the upload date of the Robert the doll video, meaning it fit the timeline. However, there was no way to prove that this was the documentary EasterLord was referring too. The biggest deterrent to this theory, was that he only listed episodes on the IMDb page, did not include locations of the Whaley House or Mad Anthony, though it could have been possible they were simply in another season. r/WastedMedia went to the video by Bobsheaux, and attempted to reach out to him about the clip used in his video. The same day, he got a response, saying "That would be 'Most Haunted in America', courtesy of the Travel Channel." meaning the users had their title. r/WastedMedia was able to find the actual IMDb page, and sadly, contained even less information that the other page, with only a air date of 2002, a runtime of 1 hour, and a director and producer listed, as well as an editor and music producer and one additional crew member. almost no contact has been received back from those r/WastedMedia was able to contact, and thus, no access to the documentary. Some users went to the travel channels wikipedia page and actual website, but the documentary were not listed in either places.

Conclusion

Only the two videos mentioned earlier and the films IMDb page, are the only current sources which back up the films existence. It's a possibility that someone has the film stored somewhere, such as either of those who uploaded footage, however as of now, the film remains lost.
