Pro Wrestling NOAH is a wrestling company based in Japan, founded by Mitsuharu Misawa in 2000. Misawa carried great fame before and after the founding of the company, as he was considered one of the best wrestlers in the world and in wrestling history. In his illustrious career , he won the AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship 5 times, and 24 of his matches have been obtained 5 stars by the Wrestling Observer (counting one out of 6 stars).
Death of Mitsuharu Misawa
In 2009, despite his deteriorating health due to the demands of the sport, Misawa challenged the GHC Tag Team champions Akitoshi Saito and Bison Smith to a match for their titles, in which Misawa was accompanied by his protégé, Go Shiozaki. The match took place on June 13th, 2009,[1] during the taping of a NOAH show. In this contest, Misawa received a backdrop suplex from Akitoshi Saito, falling unconscious after a few minutes. Seeing that Misawa was not getting up, the match was instantly stopped, and Misawa was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead within hours. He was 46 years old. His cause of death was never made public.
Existence and Availability
The only thing Pro Wrestling NOAH has revealed about the incident is the moment in which Misawa is treated by paramedics after the match. This was done in order to be shown on the Japanese news. Beyond this, nothing official has been shown, in order to show respect to such a beloved personality as Mitsuharu Misawa was.
It is known that YouTuber kimidori3takoyaki has recorded the entire match from the arena seats with his camera, but has refused to reveal it to the public out of respect for Misawa. Instead, he has uploaded the moments before and after the match.
