Viewers would send in letters describing their favorite Pokémon, and during the week, random letters would be drawn and read on the air by Meowth and Professor Oak. An episode would be shown after each of these animated segments, usually prominently featuring the favorite Pokémon. On Saturday, episodes highlighting the top five favorite characters lasted from 8:00-10:30 a.m., and the event concluded with an hour-long block of Pokémon.[1]
