Word continued to be released on the game until mid-August of 2009 when the game was officially dubbed "Kid Thulhu and the Jan Ken Bunch'" and was destined to be a platformer. However, shortly after this announcement, progress updates on the game had ceased; the updates stopped around late September of 2009. No screenshots were posted.

Shortly after the release of the second part of "The End" (which was intended to be the series' finale), Pycosis91 made a post on Newgrounds about his time working with Edd. In the post, he mentioned the game and credited the facts that he was starting university at the time and that Edd had shifted his focus more heavily to his series, ''Eddsworld'', ultimately led to production falling through. He stated that the concept went fairly far into development, with three of the six planned levels being complete.<ref name="Psy">[https://psycosis91.newgrounds.com/news/ Pycosis91's post on Newgrounds] Retrieved 30 Jan '18</ref>

Kid Thulhu and the Jan Ken Bunch was a Flash game being developed for the Newgrounds 'Power of Three' event by Psycosis91, TheWaves, and Edd Gould in 2009.

Gameplay

The gameplay would follow a kid version of Cthulhu fighting in Mega Man style combat against the 'Jan Ken Bunch', which were based on Rock-Paper-Scissors.[1]

History

The announcement of the game was made in late May of 2009 through Edd Gould's blog. In addition to other minor announcements, Edd stated the following: "I have also formed a group with Psycosis91 and TheWaves for the Newgrounds ‘Power of Three‘ summer event - which basically means we shall be making a game together over the next few months, hopefully meaning it will be an awesome game!".[2]

The second, and last known, statement about the game during its development manifested as Edd labeling the game "Kid Thulhu and the Jan Ken Bunch". No content from the game was ever publicized.[2]

Shortly after the release of the second part of "The End" (which was intended to be the series' finale), Pycosis91 made a post on Newgrounds about his time working with Edd. In the post, he mentioned the game and credited the facts that he was starting university at the time and that Edd had shifted his focus more heavily to his series, Eddsworld, ultimately led to production falling through. He stated that the concept went fairly far into development, with three of the six planned levels being complete.[1]

Status

Psycosis also stated that he wished to complete the project, as he had promised to Edd that he would. No new information has surfaced about the title since Psycosis's final statement.[1]
