Kero Kero Keroppi no Mahō no Kuni Densetsu (けろけろけろっぴの魔法の国伝説 Legend of the Magical Kingdom of Kero Kero Keroppi)[1] is a cancelled 1993 Famicom RPG game based on the Sanrio character Keroppi. The game was planned by Character Soft who is a video game publishing subsidiary of Sanrio.[2]

Plot

The game is set in the Magical Kingdom. Keroppi is lost in a parallel universe, and his goal is to take down Razuri, who is scheming to conquer that kingdom. Keroppi's only means of attack is magic. He has to gain experience and remember lots of powerful magic.

Gameplay

In this game, the player is adventuring in many different places, many questions would be asked of them. If the player gets stuck in the game, they would also ask for hints. Keroppi would not have a single weapon, he would have to convert his enemies with magic in the battles.

Availability

It was going to be released in December 1993 in Japan at 4,980 yen, but was cancelled for unknown reasons, most likely due to the new Super Famicom console that “killed” the Famicom market.[3]

On December 2, 2017, a Japanese Twitter user a_a_bm posted a tweet that a prototype for the game exists.[4]
