Hell Has Harbour Views is an Australian made-for-television movie directed by Peter Duncan, and stars Matt Day and Lisa McCune, produced by the Australian Broadcasting Company (ABC). It was adapted from the novel of the same name written by Richard Beasley. It was released on January 30th, 2005, in Australia, and had two subsequent releases: one in Finland, on April 4th, 2006, and one in Sweden, on December 5th, 2008.[1]
It was nominated for six awards, only one of which it won: the Australian Writers' Guild award (also known as an AWGIE Award) for Best Television-Telemovie Adaptation.[2]
Plot
Not much is known about the plot of the movie. The film's Wikipedia entry lists a basic plot summary but does not contain any concrete details about the film:
"While successful and primed to continue ascending the company ladder, attorney Hugh Walker is guilt-stricken by the people he and his company have hurt along the way. During a large case, he meets the journalist Caroline and the two begin seeing each other, even though Hugh already has a girlfriend, Helen. Things grow tenser after he witnesses a sexual encounter in the office, placing him in the middle of office strife."[3]
Availability
Not unlike many made-for-television releases, the movie didn't have a wide DVD release. As of February of 2022, the last known airing of the film on the ABC network was on March 1st, 2008.[4]
There are, however, several listings for the DVD on eBay.com.au, but, if anyone has purchased a copy of the film, no one has made it available to watch online. All that exists online at the moment are a few stills from the movie and one 2-minute long clip uploaded to Vimeo by Phil Basildon on July 31st, 2012.
