The game was announced in 1995 coinciding with the release of the Virtual Boy. The game itself was being developed as a racing game differentiating itself from any of the console versions of the game. It’s unknown who was developing the game but it was most likely either the company Rare (who was developing the console version at the time), or internally at Nintendo as they held the rights for making video games for the Bond franchise at that time. However it has been stated that Rare has denied working on the game.

The game was most likely cancelled due to the poor sales of the Virtual Boy (the Virtual Boy itself was canceled only a year later in 1996). The only remaining evidence of the game is two screenshots, and a description most likely from a Nintendo power magazine.
