Foodfight! is a CGI-animated movie from Threshold Animation Studios that released in 2012, considered by many to be one of the worst animated films of all time. A game was in development for the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Game Boy Advance, based on an earlier version of the film. It was to be published by Global Star Software and was supposed to tie in to the film's delayed Spring 2007 release window.

Gameplay

As far as footage shows, on the consoles, this was likely going to be a 3D platformer with Dex Dogtective as a playable character. The game was supposed to have most of the film's talent reprising their respective characters. No other gameplay mechanics are known at this time, nor the Game Boy Advance version was shown off. The game was supposedly developed by Vicious Cycle Software, as its logo was displayed, but Reddit user TheRealMegaMitch emailed David Ellis, who worked at the studio back in 2006, and confirmed that the company had nothing to do with the game.[1]

Availability

The game was shown off at E3 2006, in which a playable demo was featured along with parent company Take-Two's 2006 lineup. The only known footage of it was uploaded to PlanetQuake4.net around the same time as the event, which was mirrored to YouTube by Roger LaMarca on May 18, 2006.[2] Despite being at E3 2006, no press release or formal announcement was issued for the game on either Take-Two or Global Star's sites.[3] Because the early version of the film was deleted by the film's creator, the continuing development hell of the film, and the waning popularity of the platforms it was supposed to release on, the game was quietly cancelled. The publisher, Global Star Software, would eventually fold into 2K Games following the creation of the 2K Play label on September 10, 2007, shortly after the game's targeted release window.[4]
