Brutus was an urban legend that was passed around after the release of the first Animal Crossing game. The myth goes something like this; Brutus would appear in the player’s town if the player plays at night. Brutus would cut down all the trees in the village and ‘kidnap’ the other villagers.

In many telling's of the story, a mysterious screenshot is mentioned. The screenshot is said to just be and edited photo of the villager Octavio, but nobody can find the screenshot. It is possible that the screenshot isn’t real at all.
