Further clues come from within the interview itself. Danny credits Jono Howard, a writer for the series, for perfecting the writing process while creating the series. The fact that Danny reminisces about the pitch process during the interview implies that the episode was one proposed during the creation process, then dropped because it was "too real" (likely meaning it was too realistic for the series' typical wacky style of humor) and didn't flow well with the rest of the concept. So, the episode was dropped and quickly forgotten.

Status: Non-existent

"Special Ed" (not to be confused with the "Episode 34" creepypasta myth) was a proposed episode of Ed, Edd n Eddy during the process of creating the series in the late 1990s.

Very little was known about the episode and the only evidence of it ever being thought of was in an interview with series creator Danny Antonucci where he reminisced about the episode not going through because it was "too real".[1] Based on Antonucci's previous statement in the interview, it may have been an episode that focused specifically on Ed, although it's difficult to definitively determine with just the title and no hints of a synopsis.

Due to the implied subject matter and the lack of any storyboards or similar, it's unlikely the episode ever got any production.

On October 10th, 2016, user Bedhead Bernie uploaded a video on "Special Ed" that debunked the idea that the episode got past the concept stage. In particular, he mentions that based on a query with storyboard artist Raven Molisee, nobody at A.K.A. Cartoon remembered the production of this episode. This, along with other evidence provided in the video, ultimately means that "Special Ed"'s non-existence as a scrapped episode has been confirmed.
