Like A Hard Days Night, it was produced by Walter Shenson Films and United Artists. The left over footage was rumored to have been junked shortly after production (as was normal practice in the UK in the 1960's). Later, Subafilms (Apple) bought the rights.

The elements that are known to exist of The Beatles films (including Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine and Let It Be) are all sitting in Apple's underground London vault (which was featured on 60 Minutes with Peter Jackson giving us a brief tour).

There has been a search for the deleted footage from Help! and A Hard Day's Night since the 1980's.
