From 1997 to 1998, Cartoon Network produced various series of interstitials, all following certain themes. One of these series was entitled "Cartoon Network Responds!", which featured supposed letters and emails from fans of the cable network. The letter is often responded to in a cynical and mean way, occasionally making fun of cartoons themselves. The interstitials started being aired around early 1997, and they lasted into the early Powerhouse era (until June 1998.)

Many of these interstitials were produced, and some remain up on YouTube, but many of these interstitials are lost and haven't been put up yet. Approximately half of the interstitials are currently online. The list of interstitials can be found below:

Notable Lost Interstitials

- The Difference Between Repeats & Classics (letter asking why CN addresses repeats as classics) (Partially found by Goryparodies)

- All Your Cartoons Suck (letter from a man who doesn't like CN at all; all the CN characters cry in response)

- Pirates of Dark Water Last Episode (letter from a man who wants to see the last episode of PoTD; when CN goes to play it, they find out it was "accidentally" taped over with a documentary about how a cat drinks water)

- Secret Squirrel: Conqueror of Cartoon Network (letter from a man asking if Secret Squirrel took over the channel at one point; the answer is that Screwy Squirrel took over the channel, but the narrator provides us with a hypothetical situation where he becomes the king of the channel and shows Secret Squirrel all day)

- What If The Flintstones Never Existed? (letter from a man who asks what CN would be like if the Flintstones never existed; we are provided a glimpse into a futuristic world where no technology exists except for the TV from The Flintstones, tuned to only one channel: CN)

- 7 currently unknown interstitials (there are 20 interstitials total, although some haven't been mentioned online)
