Azumanga Daioh was a japanese anime series that aired in Japan between the months of April and September in 2002. The show aired in five minute segments, which were compiled into 26 episodes and sold as DVDs and UMDs in Japan. ADV Films was responsible for an english dub of the show, which sold the 26 episodes on DVDs in the United States in 2003. Despite the overwhelming success of ADV Films' dub, there was another dub of the show made by Animax. Animax has since dubbed many famous anime series, such as Lucky ☆ Star and K-ON.

The Animax Dub of Azumanga Daioh aired in 2012 as seen in the commercials of the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofW0KJjHIjg . An interesting thing to note is that the commercials used not only the Animax English Dub, but also used sounds from the original japanese version. The commercials also show us that the show was meant to air on a TV channel called AniChan from Monday to Friday at 4:00pm JKT/BKK. The dub features a completely different voice cast and many changes, such as Ayumu Kasuga's southern accent being removed.

As of now, only four episodes from the Animax Dub has been found, that being episodes 2,3,5 and 6 of the anime, which can be found at: https://nyaa.si/view/1230985 . The others have yet to resurface online, and it is unknown if the dub was released onto DVDs.
