Amusing Dream (夢幻冒険記 アミュージングドリーム Mugen Bouken-ki Amusing Dream, meaning Dream Adventure Chronicles: Amusing Dream)[1] is a cancelled 1992 RPG game for the Super Famicom that was in development by Takara.

The game's character design was done by mangaka Kouga Yun, the script was written by Ikeda Misa and music composed by Kuzuu Chinatsu.

Plot

An unknown landscape shrouded with mist. On a small hill, far away, a tower-like object stands. Though it is the first time the girl see this place, she feels a strange nostalgia.

Another girl appears and murmurs to her "Fellow me". She explains that she is the guide of that world and that she can aid her. From those few words, her adventure begins.

Preview

The game was to originally come out in Fall 1992; however it was delayed until July 1993. The game was cancelled for unknown reasons. No prototypes of the game exists.

A French magazine preview describes the game as such: "Amusing Dream is a truly Japanese RPG, with truly Japanese characters and truly Japanese graphic design. But is all of this Japanese, you may wonder? Absolutely, and consequently, we are very doubtful whether Japan-exclusive Amusing Dream will ever be distributed in Europe. This is approximately what Takara told us when we came blundering in. This dream may be amusing, but it will not become reality, at least not in our land..."
