In the summer of 2001, Cartoon Network was hosting their second Big Pick contest, when pilots would be voted upon, and whichever pilot got most votes Cartoon Network would greenlight to make it into a full series. One of these pilots was A Kitty Bobo Show, and it managed to get in second place behind Codename Kids Next Door. However, many people don't know that there were other episodes in the works but never finished.

History

In the summer of 2001, after Kitty Bobo ended up in second place, CN ordered a second pilot or short for the summer of 2002, and a storyboard was being made by series creator Kevin Kaliher. In it, Kitty Bobo is kicked out of his home and moves in with his friend, Monkey Carl, but ends up being a poor guest. Many people think CN asked for another short because of its high placement in the contest.

Cartoon Network cancelled it because it was considered too abstract for its demographic at the time of its creation. However, in 2010, co-creator Meg Dunn started a Kickstarter for another show called Chloe and The Stars. One of the rewards for pledging $75 was a full .PDF format of the second pilot's storyboard. Some panels of the storyboard showed up on Dunn's blog, but not the full storyboard itself. However, the storyboard hasn't been uploaded to the internet and only 3 people are in possession of it, and it's now impossible to get, as the Kickstarter failed to reach its backing goal and has been shut down. On March 16th, 2016, Kaliher stated that he currently doesn't have the storyboards at the moment in an email.

In 2020, LMW User YoungBoy contacted Meghan Dunn, who said that she had the storyboards. The user was later contacted by her boyfriend, who sent the person some snapshots of the storyboards. He also confirms that there are actually four storyboards of the series. One of these stories, as seen below, is about Kitty Bobo going on a date with a new character, Lily, who was intended to be his love interest.

On August 14th, 2020, Meg Dunn posted a majority of the storyboards to her Instagram, @whitelabelcartoons. But eventually deleted them for unknown reasons.[1] A Google Drive folder with A Kitty Bobo artwork and storyboards is provided.

On September 24th, 2021, YouTube user Stay Up Late Productions uploaded a video on the subject and Dunn was featured in the video. The video featured Dunn describing what happens in the storyboards of the second pilot, while panels of the second pilot's storyboard were shown. Marking it the first time the whole storyboard has been made public.
