A Hat in Time is a 2017 collectathon Platformer game released by Gears for Breakfast for Mac, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and later Nintendo Switch. The game was a commercial success, selling over 50,000 copies in the first two weeks, and passing one million copies by December of 2018. The game first began its development cycle on the 5th of August, 2012, and was finally released on October 5th, 2017. Between those two dates, the game saw nearly a dozen in-development preview builds released to the public and hundreds of videos and pictures. Many of these have been saved and recovered throughout the years. However, due to occasional slip ups, poor archiving, and/or a general lack of knowledge that archival was necessary until it was too late, many of these videos and builds have been theoretically lost to time. The aim of this article is to document all of the known videos and builds that have either been lost or recovered throughout the years and provide as much information as possible for each of them.
