"SHABU", as what viewers call it, was a supposed Filipino anti-drug PSA only recalled by eyewitnesses. It is known to be disturbing to viewers due to its content.

Premise

The commercial starts off with a black background and a white human-shaped cutout made out of Styrofoam. The cutout slowly dissolves from a liquid dropping from above, supposedly an acid. After the figure fully dissolves, the word SHABU (the Filipino word for methamphetamine) was shown above it. There is said to be no voiceover and only eerie background music.[1][2]

Availability

The said PSA supposedly aired only on IBC-13 during anime and tokusatsu shows around 6:00 pm. The PSA was claimed to be aired throughout the 1990s, but one eyewitness claimed the PSA started airing in 1986 or 1987.[3] The PSA hasn't yet resurfaced and remains lost to this day.
