Tourettes Guy began life as a short film produced by the Six brothers in 2000.  According to the official YouTube channel, they first shared the film on VHS on Christmas that year to around a dozen people.  The film was a 25-minute film that chronicled a day in the life of a Tourette's sufferer named Danny.  The film proved a hit with those who saw it, as according to its creators  "...lots of people got to hear some of the audio from it because the people who filmed with Danny got a kick out of putting Danny's vulgar rants on their answering machines as a way to deal with all the telemarketers that were calling people back then."

==Elbow World (2001-2003)==
The earliest known appearance of the series online was in 2001 when clips would circulate via file-sharing sites.  The following year, Six would upload these videos and audio clips to his website ''Elbow World'' under the title ''TONY THE TIGER WITH TOURETTE'S SYNDROME.'' <ref name=":1" />  <ref name=":0" />

In this early version of the series, Danny was unnamed and only referred to as "the guy that used to do the voice of Tony The Tiger" (or "Tony The Tiger").  According to the website, "he was no longer working as the voice-over for Tony the Tiger, due to using obscenities in a commercial for Frosted Flakes. 

Now living off “The Voice Of Tony The Tiger Residual Checks”, the videos document his day-to-day life in retirement, living with tourette syndrome.  

The original Elbow World page featured seven videos of "Tony the Tiger" (including the Frosted Flakes advert that got him fired) and an audio clip.  Some of these clips did survive in later Tourettes Guy compilation videos, but others are still unaccounted for and believed lost.  The videos were uploaded in .mpg format (in both high and low quality, with the audio clip a .mp3). 

The first clips were the "banned" Frosted Flakes commercial and an audio clip of "GUY WITH TOURETTE'S SYNDROME CUSSING OUT A BOTTLE OF "HEAD AND SHOULDERS" IN THE SHOWER.".  These clips did not have official titles, instead, a brief description of their content with a running time.

There is no official documentation on the early history of Tourettes Guy, but it can be assumed that these were early comedy skits by the Six bothers that later evolve into the Danny character.

In 2003, a fan site was created under the name TourettesGuy.com to continue the series.  The videos now featured Danny as he would appear for the remainder of the series, with his blue "Tony The Tiger" t-shirt and neck brace.  The Six brothers would continue with the short skit format. In November 2004, the updated site would now host three videos and audio clips.  The video clips from the previous month would be compiled into a video titled ''Video Montage''. From November 2004 until the site closed in 2007.  Nearly all videos have been edited into the four official Best of Tourettes Guy compilations. == Tourettes Guy DVD ==
On 4th August 2007, a post was made to the Tourettes Guy website's admin, The Big Admin, reporting news of Danny's death.  The official page reported that it would produce a DVD compiling his clips to honour Danny. 

An update was later posted on 26th August 2007 stating they would no longer produce a DVD but instead upload what would have been on the DVD to the website for fans to download for free. <ref> https://web.archive.org/web/20070903061151/http://www.tourettesguy.com/index2.html Tourettesguy.com - Wayback capture</ref>

Although there are numerous mentions of the DVD being released on old thread posts online, to date, no ISO image of the DVD nor any scanned images of the DVD itself or its cover have survived online.  

A few YouTube videos titled ''Tourettes Guy DVD'' or ''Tourettes Guy Movie'' have surfaced online.  They all contain the same THE TOURETTES GUY title card.

In 2009, a video titled ''The Return of The Tourettes Guy'' was posted to YouTube on Christmas Day.  The video features new current-day videos of Danny, proving he was alive.  Since then, the official channel has continued to post new episodes sporadically.
