Tokyo 1960 was a Filipino kaiju film released in December 27, 1957. It was directed by Teodorico C. Santos and produced by C. Santiago Film Organization (by Cirio H. Santiago which is also its executive producer) & People's Pictures, Inc. It starred Tessie Quintana, Zaldy Zshornack, and Eddie del Mar.

Information

It is the Filipino version of Godzilla and described as "Mightiest MELODRAMA of them all!" It was claimed to be shot in Tokyo, Japan but it was really shot in Manila. The film splices some footage from Gojira, to create a new but similar narrative. It was produced in 1956 and was released in 1957.[1] A person claimed that its international name was Godzilla's Fury & Godzilla 1960 and said to have collaborated with Toho Films in Japan.[2]

Availability

The first mention of the movie was in 2008 when Video48 mentioned it on the three "atomic monster" movies in the 1950s. This gained attention on CHFB (The Classic Horror Film Board) forums when user doctor kiss made a thread about the movie with new significant information gained.

However, it is still unknown if the movie is a re-dub or re-edit of the original Godzilla movie (Gojira) or a completely different film. It is regarded as a lost film.
