Mum's Magic Mulch is an unaired TV movie made for HBO in 1990. It starred British-American performance art comedy duo The Kipper Kids and was directed by Stephen R. Johnson, best known for directing the music videos for Peter Gabriel's songs "Sledgehammer", "Big Time", and "Steam", as well is the videos for Talking Heads' "Road to Nowhere" and both "The Bug" and "Walk of Life" by Dire Straits. He also directed the first season of Pee-Wee's Playhouse.[1] Little is known of the content of the film other than a few production shots there were posted on their Facebook page.[2]

The film is listed in the collection of The Museum of Modern art.[3] It is also in the special collections of the University of Missouri-Kansas City's library system, which holds the Stephen R. Johnson collection from his estate.[4] Brian Routh of the Kipper Kids stated in Dominic Johnson's The Art of Living: An Oral History of Performance Art that "creatively, we left everything to (Stephen R. Johnson)" but "the result was really lame. The music was awful, too. Everything about Mum's Magic Mulch was awful. HBO didn't even show it. It was shelved."
