BIONICLE: Mask of Light, the first of four direct-to-video movies spun off of the LEGO BIONICLE toy line, was released on September 16th, 2003. This movie introduced a new member of the heroic Toa Nuva warriors: Takanuva, the Toa of Light. It also marked the first time the franchise's main antagonist, Makuta (later known as Teridax), made a personal appearance in a BIONICLE story. Naturally, LEGO started selling toys of both characters around the time of the movie's premiere.

However, the original English version of the commercial for the toys did not appear online for a long time and was only available to view in the French version of the commercial.

Transcript

"Takanuva, Toa de la Lumière, doit affronter son destin et sauver les habitants de l'île de Mata Nui. Réussira-t-il à vaincre Makuta, le Maître des Ténèbres? BIONICLE: la légende continue!"

Translation:

"Takanuva, Toa of Light, must confront his destiny and save the people of Mata Nui Island. Will he succeed in defeating Makuta, Master of Darkness? BIONICLE: the legend goes on!"

Research

On April 8th, 2016, after contacting LEGO's Customer Service about the commercial the day before, a Lost Media Wiki user received the following reply:

"I tried to find the 2003 Titan commercial in English for you, but you've probably already looked everywhere I can! I found the one in French you mentioned and found other commercials in English. Sadly, I wasn't able to locate the Bionicle Titan one for you. My apologies that I wasn't able to help you with that."

On March 1st, 2019, The English commercial was uploaded online by YouTuber Brendan Smith from an old VHS recording he had.
