The anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood had an official English dub by FUNimation, however, a second English dub was aired on Animax in Asia, and was also allegedly aired in the UK. The dub was recorded by SDI Media in Hong Kong.[1]

Some of the confirmed voice actors who worked on the dub include Muriel Hofmann who voiced Edward Elric, Winry Rockbell, Lust, Izumi Curtis, and Riza Hawkeye.[2] According to the website behindthevoiceactors.com, Lily Truncale also worked on the dub voicing Alphonse Elric, Lan Fan, May Chang, Paninya, and Pinako Rockbell.[3] Matthew Leonhart and Mike Brooks also appear to have worked on the series voicing Roy Mustang and Alex Louis Armstrong respectively. Catherine Fu and Gloria Ansell are confirmed to be in this dub as well, but their roles are currently unknown as neither can remember.[4] The dub was directed by Jack Murphy.[5]

The dub has never been released on home media.

Before clips were posted, some people remembered watching the dub on Animax. One user claimed that Edward sounded female while another user said that Armstrong had a high-pitched German accent.[6] Additionally, according to another Reddit thread, the dub aired in 2011 and covered the anime in its entirety.[7] However, according to a tweet when the dub first aired, this dub came out as early as October 2009. [8]

On September 23rd, 2020, a Twitter user by the name of YuiHaruhara uploaded several clips from this dub, confirming the rumors that Edward has a female voice and that Alex Armstrong has a German accent.

Additionally, the user themselves have confirmed on their YouTube channel [9]that they were given permission to release the four available archived episodes, which are 1, 2, 3, and 11, leaving the rest to be considered lost.
