Fantastic Four was a 2005 superhero movie based on the Marvel superhero team of the same name. It was directed by Tim Story and released on July 8th, 2005 and is the first film in the Fantastic Four film series starring Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, Chris Evans and Julian McMahon. The film received mixed-to-negative reviews but was a box office hit and gained a minor cult following. It resulted in the release of a 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, with Doug Jones joining the cast as the Silver Surfer.

The original runtime of the film was cut down from over 2 hours to 1 hour and 46 minutes, resulting in a good chunk of the film cut. The film was reshot by Fox in March 2005 with additional visual effects due to the success of Pixar’s 2004 superhero film The Incredibles.[1][2]
